Strawberry Dump Cake

Good morning! This week, I had the pleasure of serving dinner to five wonderful ladies at my home. I made this strawberry dump cake for dessert. I am posting this easy recipe for those kindred spirits who are iffy cooks, like me. I have made this cake many times, substituting the filling with apple, lemon, cherry, blueberry or whatever canned fruit filling I have on hand, and I haven't had a single misfire. Here's the recipe. Enjoy!

1 can strawberry pie filling

1 box white or yellow cake mix

1 stick unsalted butter

Preheat oven to 350. Spray the bottom of a 9x9 cake pan with cooking oil. I used Pam. Spread the fruit filling evenly over the bottom of the pan. (hint: I have also used a 13x9 pan and it turned out just fine) Spread the dry cake mix over the top of the fruit filling. Cut the butter into thin squares and place it on the top until you have the top completely covered. You might need a little more butter or a little less. You really cannot mess this up. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25-35 minutes until the top is golden. Serve alone or top with whipped cream.

That's it. Simple and easy. Have a wonderful day! If you try this recipe, let me know how you liked it!
