There is something about approaching the Almighty God when we are on our knees. It does something to our hearts. It is an outward showing of an inward attitude of humility, contrition and repentance. It tells God that we at least have the appearance of submission. And when we kneel before our Maker, I somehow believe it touches the heart of God. It gets His attention. Sometimes I try to get by with prayers muttered quickly, on the fly, as I go through my day, like the Tasmanian devil. But when I get on my knees, take my time, and really commune with the Lord of Heaven and Earth, there is something powerful about that. It leaves me breathless to know that God (yes, the Alpha and Omega, the Great I Am, the Lion of Judah, the Messiah...yes, THAT ONE) hears me. He is attuned to ME...and not only is He attuned, He is genuinely interested in what I have to say! He wants to talk to me and for me to talk to Him. He wants dialogue. And He wants love. He wants relationship. He wants all of me, even the parts that are totally unlovable. Because He is just that great and mighty. "Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker." Psalm 95:6
